Have you ever experienced a moment where you knew—without a doubt—that God was speaking to you? In this Trust Talk, I shared a deeply personal testimony from the introduction of my book Blind Faith—a moment when I was staring down the barrel of a gun and heard God speak with unmistakable clarity. In a situation filled with fear and uncertainty, God didn’t speak panic; He spoke peace. His instruction was simple but powerful: “Girl, sit down.” That moment revealed something life-changing to me—when you know God’s Word and are filled with His Spirit, His voice becomes unmistakable, even in the most intense moments of life.

Throughout this episode, I explore how God communicates with us through both His Word and His Spirit. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 119:105 that God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. When we store His Word in our hearts, it becomes the truth that rises in moments of fear, confusion, or crisis. At the same time, the Holy Spirit actively guides, warns, comforts, and corrects us. Being filled with God’s Spirit gives us discernment—the ability to recognize when God is leading us, restraining us, or protecting us from something we cannot yet see.

Sometimes when God tells us to “sit down,” it isn’t restriction—it’s protection. Obedience to His voice has saved me more times than I can count, not only physically but emotionally and spiritually. When we cultivate a relationship with God through His Word and allow His Spirit to dwell within us, we begin to move differently, respond differently, and live differently. As believers, we will always stand apart—not because we are better than others, but because His Spirit lives and dwells within us. And when His Spirit leads, we can walk with confidence knowing we are guided, protected, and never alone.
